the latest from the arena (the five-fold cartoon one)

Hi everyone,

The exciting stuff first. Word is spreading thanks to the media coverage by Queensland Country Life and ABC News. And you of course. Thanks for telling your mates about us.

We’re also in top-secret discussions on how to promote not only our board game, but the iconic Aussie sport of Campdrafting itself (without which our game wouldn’t exist). Hmmm. Top-secret. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it. Forget I said anything.

Game-play beta testing is continuing, and the feedback continues to help us improve our game design. We also got great tips and tricks from TableTopCon2026 – a convention that saw thousands of board game enthusiasts converge on the Gold Coast to try out the latest games by local creators.

With all that input, we’ve been updating and improving. Rules are being tweaked and tested, new ideas for game components are being discussed.

Right now, our talented artistic creator, Leith Walton, is making updates to a couple of aspects to see how they roll.

So, what stage of development are we at? Are we being lazy?

No way! It’s just when people hear about this game they get excited and tell everybody about it like it’s already on the shelves!

We’re going to be setting up a Kickstarter campaign soon – it’s a way for you to get your hands on the game before it’s released in the shops by supporting us with a Kickstarter pledge (we’ll explain it all once it kicks off).

Then when we’re happy with all the aspects of the game design, we’ll get Leith to finalise the artwork so we can gather the final quotes, pick a winner, and turn this idea into reality.

It’s still months away, but it’s definitely coming.

Watch this space!

Cheers, Steve (the non-tech Steve)
